Developmental Disabilities
Comprehensive care for individuals with special needs is offered at
six Intermediate Care Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled, offering a supportive and nurturing environment. The staff at each facility treats every person as unique, with differing abilities and needs. Individuals with special needs – like all people – have the right to explore as many opportunities available to them as possible to help them develop to their fullest potential.
Individuals at Alden of Old Town East, Alden of Old Town West, Alden Springs, Alden Trails, Alden Village and Alden Village North are those experiencing developmental delays and need extra attention to maximize their skills. For such persons, the presence of a physical or cognitive disability can make it difficult for them to realize their goals. These facilities provide interventions that are delivered by caring, trained health care professionals.
Services include:
- Comprehensive Physical and Psychological Evaluations
- Individualized Education Plans (in conjunction with the School Association for Special Education)
- Physical, Occupational and Communication Therapy
- Music and Recreational Therapy
- Respiratory Therapy
- Behavioral Health and Modification Programs
- Professional Nursing Care 24 Hours a Day
- Laboratory, Pharmacy, Dental and Optometry Services
